Marc DeSerres, a well-known businessman, is the President of DeSerres inc., a fine arts and creative leisure supply chain founded in 1908 by his grandfather Omer DeSerres, which now numbers 34 stores across Canada. Marc DeSerres has been the head of the family business since 1980.

Mr. DeSerres has been a member of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal’s Board of Directors from 1998 to 2012 and President of the Board from February 2004 to June 2012. He is also a member of Metro inc.’s Board of Directors since January 2002, as well as of its Human Resources and Governance Committees.

From 1994 to 2004, Marc DeSerres was a member of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee of the Conseil Québécois du Commerce de détail. He was also President of the fundraising campaign of the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal’s Foundation in 1996 and 1997, and president of the Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montréal’s Board of Directors in 1995, as well as a member from 1990 to 1995.

Mr. DeSerres completed a Bachelor’s degree in Administration at Concordia University in 1975.
Liette has always had the privilege of working with entrepreneurs, her source of inspiration and energy. First as a Chartered Professional Accountant, then in the Canadian government, and as the head of the World Trade Center Montreal, where she helped Canadian companies export.

Since 2004, she has been involved in the philanthropic community as Executive Director of Fondation Montreal Inc., an organization that drives young Montreal entrepreneurs to success. Liette believes that everyone has a role to play in making our city an inclusive and prosperous city where life and work are good.

She has been a lecturer in the Certificate in Philanthropic Management at the Université de Montréal to share her learning of philanthropic practices, codes and good practices. She has served on the board of the Canadian Mental Health Association - Montreal Branch and was a member of the L’APPUI Montreal Allocation Committee. She is currently a member of the Arts-Business Committee of the Conseil des arts de Montréal.
